ChatGPT Has Been Leaking Your Conversations

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, claims that a ChatGPT bug allowed certain users to see the titles of other users’ talks. He apologised for the “serious” error, but he said it had been fixed.

On social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter, users posted screenshots of chat logs with the allegation that they did not create them. Several users are still concerned about the privacy of the platform after the patch.

Millions of users have used ChatGPT to write letters, produce music, and even programme since its release in November of last year. The user’s chat history, which may be seen afterwards, records every conversation they have with the chatbot.

But, individuals began to notice conversation histories in their accounts early this week that they had never had with the chatbot.

A Reddit user shared a screenshot of their chat history, which had chats in Mandarin with topics like “China Socialist Development.”

OpenAI informed Bloomberg on Tuesday that they had temporarily disabled the chatbot in order to fix the issue. Users couldn’t access the actual discussions at that time, the business added.
Due to the most recent bug, there are now worries about possible data breaches because OpenAI has access to people’s private discussions. A “technical postmortem” to look into the situation would shortly be done, according to a tweet from OpenAI’s CEO.

Despite the fact that the company’s privacy policy permits the use of user data, including prompts and responses, for model training, such data is only accessed after all personally identifiable information has been eliminated.

What chatGPT says

As an AI language model, I do not have access to the conversations or personal information of users. Additionally, my programming and architecture have been designed with privacy and security as a top priority. Any data that is entered into my system is kept confidential and not shared with any third-party without the user’s explicit consent. If you have any concerns regarding your privacy or the security of your information, please do not hesitate to reach out to the appropriate authorities or contact the developers of the platform you are using to access me.
