Imran Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and a former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been arrested at his home in Zaman Park. This arrest was made in response to an order issued by the Islamabad Sessions Court in the Toshakhana case.

Imran Khan was accused of abusing his authority and providing fraudulent information with the election commission in the Toshakhana case. He was found guilty of corrupt conduct and sentenced to three years in jail by the court. In addition, he has been barred from holding any public office for the next five years.

As part of the sentence, the court issued arrest warrants for Imran Khan and fined him Rs100,000 (Pakistani Rupees).

Toshakhana is a storage facility for gifts received by governmental authorities from foreign dignitaries. The case against Imran Khan centered on the alleged receipt of gifts while serving as Prime Minister and the failure to submit these gifts to the electoral commission. The court determined that he gave misleading information about these gifts and engaged in corrupt acts, leading to his conviction.

Imran Khan is scheduled to be taken to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore after his detention, where he will serve his three-year prison sentence.

It is crucial to highlight that the legal procedure and court decisions are open to review and appeal. Further developments in this case may occur as the scenario develops.
