The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chosen to introduce a new trophy for the forthcoming eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023), which will begin on February 13 in Multan and end on March 19 in Lahore, with matches also scheduled in Karachi and Rawalpindi.

According to the plans, the new PSL 8 2023 trophy will be unveiled on February 9 at the Shalimar Bagh in Lahore during a ceremony attended by captains from all six teams and PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi.

“Yes, the newly designed trophy will be awarded to the eighth edition’s victors. “The one that was utilised and handed to the victors of the last seven tournaments will no longer be available,” a PCB official confirmed when contacted.
“A newly created trophy with a superior appearance will be exhibited on February 9 at the Shalimar Garden. Captains from Multan Sultan and Lahore Qalandars will be available. “Every effort is being made to include all of the captains at the trophy revealing event,” the source added.
When asked how the trophy will vary from the one used in the previous seven editions, he stated that it will better represent Pakistan and its cricket.
“Efforts have been made to improve Pakistan’s image through the trophy. “We hope that cricket fans all around the world enjoy the new trophy,” the official added.
This implies that the current trophy, which was awarded to the Lahore Qalandars as the (PSL 7) winners last year, would be replaced with a completely new trophy with a fresh design.
