Samsung has been improving its Galaxy Tab series for years, and the most recent lineup, the Galaxy Tab S9 trio, has just been released. Samsung continues to provide a normal tablet with an 11-inch screen, a bigger model with a 12.4-inch diagonal, and a premium Ultra model with a massive 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel.
Starting with the most expensive model, the Tab S9 Ultra.
Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
It’s possible that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra won’t seem all that different from its predecessor. Samsung has, however, made a number of noteworthy improvements. With the exception of the tough Tab Active line, the entire Galaxy Tab S9 lineup now has an IP68 dust and water resistant rating, making these models the first widely available Samsung tablets to provide this level of environmental protection.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra has a large 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1,848 x 2,960px and a variable refresh rate of 120Hz. It still has a notch cutout, which houses two 12MP front-facing cameras with a conventional wide lens and an ultrawide module.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series and Samsung’s most recent foldable devices utilize the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset in terms of hardware. The configuration possibilities for the Tab S9 Ultra are 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage.
Samsung’s One UI 5.1 has been updated with Android 13 for the Tab S9 series. Along with enabling a shared clipboard across all of your Galaxy devices, Samsung has also included continuity features for a few premium Galaxy phones, including the new Flip 5. These characteristics enable these phones to act as secondary screens for tablets in some apps. Samsung guarantees this line-up four Android updates and five years of security updates.
The Tab S9 series will also include some unique apps and functions, like GoodNotes, a very well-liked note-taking app among iPad owners. Finally, this software will launch on Android, but only on Samsung Galaxy Tab devices that are compatible.
All three Tab S9 variants continue to come with a S Pen stylus from Samsung. A charger is not included in the box and must be purchased separately, however the Tab S9 Ultra also includes a powerful 11,200 mAh battery that supports 45W rapid charging.
Prices for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra start at $1,199, and both the Beige and Graphite color variants are offered.
Galaxy Tab S9 and S9+
The basic Galaxy Tab S9 sports the same Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel as its larger counterparts, unlike last year’s Galaxy Tab S8, which had an LCD screen. An 11-inch screen with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a single 12MP front-facing camera, and an under-display fingerprint reader are all included in the Tab S9.
The recently released Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series features IP68 certifications and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipsets. Similar to the Tab S9 Ultra, the Tab S9+ has a 12.4-inch display with the same refresh rate and two rear cameras that are 13MP + 8MP in size.
The Tab S9+, on the other hand, has 12 GB of RAM as standard and provides 256 GB or 512 GB of storage options, while the Tab S9 is only available with 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of RAM.
The battery capacity is the other key distinction. The Tab S9 has an 8,400 mAh battery, whereas the Tab S9+ has a stronger 10,900 mAh battery. Both tablets allow fast charging at up to 45W.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 has a $799 starting price, while the Tab S9+ starts at $999.
