At the TIO Stadium in Darwin on Wednesday night, Shawaiz Irfan’s aggressive half-century and methodical bowling effort helped Pakistan Shaheens defeat Melbourne Stars by a margin of 43 runs.

The Shaheens won the Top End T20 Series for the third time in a row.

After deciding to bat first, Shamyl Hussain and Shawaiz gave the Shaheens a strong 60-run start to their innings until left-handed Shamyl left the field on the penultimate ball of the fifth over. Shawaiz and captain Rohail Nazir combined 50 runs for the second wicket after Shamyl left. Before being dismissed, Shawaiz had scored 65 from 37 balls, including five fours and four sixes.
