Dubai: Virgin Hyperloop, the company behind a ground-breaking technology that seeks to significantly cut travel times, now anticipates delivering its goods services by the middle of this decade rather than in the early 2030s as initially envisaged. The hyperloop models offer transit speeds between Dubai and Abu Dhabi of 12 minutes as opposed to the hour-plus present trip time.

“DP World recommended that the cargo side of (hyperloop-enabled) transportation be expedited to provide a solution for handling future supply chain needs to the Virgin Hyperloop Board.”

The train can go at up to 1000 km/h, which is more than ten times faster than regular rail and three times quicker than high-speed rail. In January 2022, Virgin Hyperloop released a computer-animated film that painstakingly details what it would be like to travel in the ultra-rapid method of transportation. You may learn more here.

This information brings the commercialization of hyperloop technology one step closer, according to Sultan bin Sulayem, chairman of Virgin Hyperloop and CEO of DP World.

“The Gulf region is poised to change with the rapid, sustainable, and on-demand transport of passengers and cargo.”

Virgin Hyperloop anticipates obtaining its safety certification by 2025 and beginning commercial operations in 2030.

The accomplishment, in the words of Virgin Hyperloop CEO Jay Walder, “is evidence of our technological progress.”
