Older devices often stop supporting WhatsApp and new ones are released. In fact, as of December 31st, this messaging app has stopped working on more than 49 of his devices. This article contains a complete list.
WhatsApp releases updates frequently, but older phones may not be able to keep up. For example, the widely used messaging app stopped working on iPhones with iOS 10 and iOS 11 on October 24th. Also, only two iPhones will lose access to the Messages app at this time, as will many legacy Android phones.
Of course, we’re talking about a smartphone from a few years ago, so it’s entirely possible that it’s been upgraded to a newer model since then. But outdated smartphones are commonplace. If yours is on the list, unfortunately WhatsApp will be unavailable as of his December 31st.
